G’day pals, Sharni here. Checking in from the autumnal landscapes of Southern Australia, the leaves are changing colour at a rapid rate and the temperatures are dropping by the day. So what more to welcome the colder months than to snuggle up with a cup of tea, an open fire and some blissful autumn tunes. So, my dear friends, I bring you a selection of two Australian artists and a little trip over the sea to visit New Zealand; a land of quality sheep and even better music. All bringing some pretty lovely music to the forefront. Get involved.
Marlon Williams, the greatest gentlemen to exist in the whole of New Zealand, is the name on everyone’s lips at the moment. His highly anticipated self-titled release has just hit the airwaves, and boy, is it a magnificent record. Those chiselled smokey vocals, the familiar country twang, the textbook execution, ah this little egg is one to watch. But for now, marinade on this elvis number.
Next up, a new face on the scene, hailing from small town Milton, just off the coast in the great New South Wales. Cooper has freshly released this corker of a single, The Art Of Escape, the title track of his ripping little EP, this blue eyed boy has found the dreamiest counterpoint of emotive lyrics and creamy acoustics all tied together with neat experimentation. Delicious
Get this little track of deliciousness in your earholes. Introducing, MT Warning. Another East Coast babe, who doing more than great things with his dynamically delicate soundscapes. Some intriguingly bold stuff is coming from this character, with promises of a new EP titled Petrified Heart, lurking in the shadows.
Until we speak again, stay classy. Sharni x
