Ethan Gruska Stuns on his Mahogany Sessions Debut
At an abandoned gas station on the outskirts of the Californian desert, Ethan Gruska performs a delicate acoustic version of his brand new single, Teenage Drug, exclusively for the Mahogany Sessions.
Ethan Gruska emerged as one half of The Belle Brigade, which he formed with his sister, Barbara Gruska in 2011. As the grandson of award-winning composer, John Williams, Gruska has learned to master an array of musical instruments since early childhood, and most recently co-produced Phoebe Bridgers’ album, Stranger In The Alps, which has received widespread praise since its release last month.
His time in The Belle Brigade resulted in two albums of harmony-soaked, glossy west-coast rock, but for his debut solo album, Slowmotionary, released earlier this year, Ethan opted for a completely different approach. The result is a stunning, sparse affair that showcases Ethan’s assured songwriting ability and places him high up on ‘Ones To Watch’ lists around the world.
