HORIZON 2018 is very much on the horizon and we couldn’t be more excited! Taking place on the 1st and 8th of February, this year’s event has a slightly different feel to previous editions. That’s because this year the Mahogany Sessions and Mahogany Blog teams have decided to curate one night of HORIZON each, to bring you an even wider array of talent than ever before.

The Blog team takeover proceedings on the 8th February with HORIZON 2018: Mahogany Blog Presents, so before then, we wanted to introduce you to the handpicked acts that will be performing on the night.

Jaz Karis

South Londoner and Brit School alumni, Jaz Karis is a force to be reckoned with. Boasting a luscious vocal that travels effortlessly between the soundscapes of soul, jazz and hip-hop, last year’s remarkable debut EP marked Jaz out as one to pay close attention to in 2018.

From London to Uganda and back again, Kidepo’s journey has been an eventful one. Now back in London once more, the soul singer shared his hugely promising debut EP in early 2017. Showcasing his rich, deep baritone and knack for emotive lyricism, the record serves as notice that Kidepo is one to pay close attention to in 2018.

Moving to the British coast from Los Angeles as a child and, with reference points ranging from Billie Holiday to Kanye West and BadBadNotGood, there’s a melting pot of ideas and experiences that feed into Celeste’s unique brand of rich, warm soul. Blessed with a mesmeric vocal and a talent for writing deeply personal, poetic songs, 2018 finds Celeste primed to build on the success her 2017 debut EP.

Having produced psych-pop gems for some of the biggest acts in Scandinavia today, Copenhagen based songwriter, producer & DJ, Vera, begun releasing music under his own name last year. And it’s seriously impressive stuff. Marrying androgynous pop vocals, smooth saxophone and bossa nova guitars with future electronic beats, VERA’s lilting, tropical pop has been filling dance floors all summer long and you can catch him playing at HORIZON on the 8th February.

Elli Ingram

Following the release of her long awaited and critically acclaimed debut album last year, Brighton based chanteuse, Elli Ingram, is finally starting to receive the recognition she’s long deserved. Possessing one of the finest soul voices in the UK, Elli is an artist of unusual complexity and rare honesty, constantly seeking to challenge and provoke thought with her music. Having toured Europe extensively in 2017, Elli brings her extraordinary live show to the HORIZON stage on the 8th February.
