British singer/songwriter, Jack Savoretti, should be well known to followers of Mahogany, having appeared on the Mahogany Sessions no less than 3 times. Currently busy working on the follow up to 2016’s Sleep No More album, Jack has taken a break from the studio today to pop into Mahogany HQ to share a selection of some his favourite songs. Over to you, Jack

Dylan LeBlanc – Easy Way Out

I’ve been a big fan of Dylan LeBlanc since I heard If The Creek Don’t Rise. Every now and then you hear a songwriter put your own life in their words and the connection is enough to keep you hooked for a lifetime … this song also has one of my favourite lines of all time “The easy way out , its a dangerous path. No one knows it like I do ” it’s one of those that make you say to yourself, I wish I’d written that one.

Courtney Marie Andrews – Kindness Of Strangers

Spending most of my life on the road, I’m attracted to songs about the road like a moth to a flame , and no one writes about life on the road better than Courtney Marie Andrews. She talks about the detail, the hidden moments no one else manages to talk about in songs. I can’t get enough when it comes to Courtney Marie Andrews.

Ben Harper – Jah Work

Growing up I discovered Ben Harper and learned that music was not only about love and heartbreak, but also about the world we live live in and how we chose to live in it.

Gizmo Varillas – Losing You

Gizmo has been a part of our musical family off and on the road. There are few artists than can transmit positivity the way Gizmo knows how to. This is a song from his upcoming album and I think he’s taken things to another level. I always look forward to what he’s gonna do next and he never disappoints.

J.J Cale – Cajun Moon

If anybody ever asked me to give my definition of ‘cool’, or what ‘cool’ is to me, I would put this song on every time. This song never get old.
