It’s fair to say that Jade Bird has enjoyed a stellar 2017. The British singer/songwriter shared her debut EP, Something American was released back in July, winning her rave reviews on both sides of the Atlantic and support slots on North American tours with the likes of Son Little and First Aid Kit. If that wasn’t exciting enough for the 20 year old, last month it was announced that she’d made the BBC Sound Of 2018 long-list.

Today, Jade has popped into Mahogany HQ and taken over our Spotify playlist to share her ‘Weird & Wonderful’ tracks to start the day. Take a listen to her picks below.

“Wait who am I, what am I doing”
This is the start of the RAM album (PLEASE check the cover it really does say it all), it seems to be right on the edge of something (sanity?) and the album is unquestionably a masterpiece … a morning masterpiece.

Hiss Golden Messenger – Biloxi

“How much did I drink, how much did I say”
Another 10/10 album and dressing room go to, Biloxi is the start – some other good morning Americans go to’s would be “heart like a levee” and “as the crow flies”.

Dave Brubeck Band – Koto Song

“I feel like a sardine”
A bit of a spanner in the works, but tubes are stressful right? Jazz isn’t for everyone but this little number can completely wrap you in a musical duvet when pressed up again the worlds commuters… give it a try!!
