Lewis Capaldi is a young singer/songwriter from Glasgow with a huge future ahead of him. In January, with no official releases to his name, he sold out his first ever live show in a matter of days. Then, in April, he saw first single, Bruises, race to over a million streams in less than 10 days. Currently sitting on over 12 million plays on Spotify alone, Bruises was the only music we’d heard from Lewis – before today that is.

Because today Lewis returns with new single Lost On You, which we’re pleased to be able to exclusively share with you all.

A stripped-back, piano driven track, Lost On You finds Lewis struggling to come to terms with a relationship that’s failing, despite his best efforts. The sparse instrumentation of the track means that Lewis’ distinctive vocals take centre-stage. And when you posses a voice like his – capable of effortlessly moving from a gravelly rasp to a haunting falsetto – that is no bad thing at all.

Talking to Lewis about his music he said, ‘I think I was always a bit hesitant to properly release music in the past because I wasn’t sure if the stuff I was writing was actually good enough and now, having seen the reaction to Bruises, I’m glad it took as long as it did for me to put something out because I feel like that song is the perfect way I could’ve introduced people to my music.’

It certainly was and Lost On You is the perfect follow up.
