Welcome to The Monday Digest, your one-stop-shop for aural and visual treats to kick start your week. Here you’ll find our roundup of the best releases from the past week and our pick of musical and cultural highlights all packaged up into one neat, little article – perfect for your coffee break or commute.

So, without further adieu, let’s crack on.

We were royally spoilt for new music last week. HAIM dropped new album Something To Tell You, the much anticipated follow-up to their hugely successful 2013 debut. Trans-Atlantic duo, Rhye also shared new music for the first time in 4 years, in the shape of double A-side, Please/Summer Days. Other highlights included new albums from Lucy Rose and Toro Y Moi, as well as new singles from Honne, Tom Misch, Mahalia and Lewis Capaldi – amongst a ton of others. We could list out all our faves, but we thought we’d be nice and put them into a handy little playlist for you instead – have a listen below

We were treated to some great new music videos over the past week, with the efforts from JAY-Z, Run The Jewels and Rhye particular standouts, as well as some cool new live sessions. Aside from the blissfully chilled latest Mahogany Session courtesy of Oscar Jerome, the standout session was provided by Australian retro-funk band, Parcels, who delivered a gloriously funky 20 minute jam for France’s ARTE Channel.

Last week also saw the launch of new Mahogany Blog feature, Five For You, with the first edition dedicated to the work of Justin Vernon – outside of official Bon Iver releases. Check out the video below for a taste of what you can expect to find and read the article in full here.

Finally, because we still aren’t quite ready to let go of the Glastonbury spirit, here’s a video of HAIM’s barnstorming performance of Right Now at this year festival. If the drum solos towards the end of the video don’t get you pumped for today, we don’t know what will.

We’ll see you guys next week, for the next instalment of The Monday Digest
