As the days get shorter, the temperature drops, there is something rather indulgent about allowing yourself to sink into some classic folk music. It makes the perfect back drop to fallen leaves and frosty mornings. Irish folk singer Rosie Carney’s delicate, ballad Winter is one such perfect track.

Winter is a beautiful, sweet song about waiting out the isolation and loneliness of winter, trying to forget an unrequited love until the seasons change. Which matched with Carney’s voice and its cool, ethereal quality makes the track a perfect winter backdrop. This latest release is a fitting close to a year that has seen Carney touring with Benjamin Francis Leftwich and complete a slew of festival dates including Latitude and Sounds for a Safe Harbour.

Winter is out now on Akira Records.
