SIPPRELL: The Music That Made Me
The Mahogany Music Club makes it long awaited return on the 5th April. Taking place at South London’s Bermondsey Social Club, the night will feature live performances from three of the hottest new acts around, including rising British soulstress, SIPPRELL.
Before she takes to the stage at the Music Club, we sat down with SIPPRELL to discover the 5 tracks that she’s loving the most right now.
Sour Mango – Gabriel Garzón-Montano
One of my fave albums and artists. The production is so distinct on this track. Sounds like a film soundtrack.
Fingerprints – Hiatus Kaiyote
One of my favourite bands. Love the smooth, dreamy vibes of this track and Nai Palm’s gorgeous vocals. It’s lyrically beautiful too.
Nick Hakim – Roller Skates
Been listening to this album for a little while now. Roller Skates always puts me in a good mood. The echoey effects on his vocals take you somewhere else.
Lonely World – Moses Sumney
Love this whole album, but particularly love the intense musical build up and instrumentation in Lonely world.
I Need A Forest Fire – James Blake & Bon Iver
Beautiful beyond words. James Blake and Bon Iver are 2 of my all time favourite artists and together they’re a magic combo.
Could have picked any song from SZA’s album. Love her unique flow and delivery.
