The Paper Kites have just released the first single off their concept album ‘twelvefour’, due out on August 28, and it sets an exciting tone for whats to come. The band moves away from the predominantly acoustic sounds they marked their previous tracks with, and have created yet another whirlwind success as a result.

The album is entitled ‘twelvefour’ in reference to the hours during which it was created, midnight to four a.m., and strangely it seems as though this has had a strong impact on the track. It is hard to say whether or not songs can ever be read like a clock on the wall, but ‘Electric Indigo’ unmistakably captures the magic of the midnight hours it was written in. The vibrant track inspires a sense of romanticism often felt in the dead of night, when streets are empty, street-lights are on, and there is no sound but a few leaves being rustled by a warm breeze.

We can’t wait to hear more…
