Last week, Irish trio, Wyvern Lingo shared their powerful, politically-charged new single, Out Of My Hands. A stinging critique of political apathy both at home and abroad, Wyvern Lingo return today to unveil the track’s powerful accompanying video, streaming exclusively above.

According to lead singer, Karen Cowley, Out Of My Hands was written after she met a man in a Dublin pub on the night a large-scale demonstration was taking place in the city. It was the cynicism and apathy he displayed towards the protestors and their cause that inspired Out Of My Hands.

In the video, that man is represented by a series of clips of a relaxed-looking Humphrey Bogart, interposed between clips from large-scale protests, fleeing migrants and scenes from various global conflicts. The result is that viewers are left in no doubt that apathy costs lives. It’s a powerful message and one that sadly seems to be more pertinent than ever right now.
